• Ms. Xiaoyan Qian, Director of the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team for East and South-East Asia and the Pacific and Country Office for Thailand, Cambodia and Lao People's Democratic Republic,
• Distinguished speakers, honored guests, and participants,

On behalf of the Employers' Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), it is my great honor and pleasure to deliver the opening remarks today.

A safe and healthy working environment is not only a fundamental right at work, but also a key driver of productivity and sustainable economic growth. Although Thailand has made significant progress by ratifying ILO Conventions No. 155 and 187, "mental health at work" remains a critical challenge that inevitably impacts both employees and organizational performance.

National survey data in Thailand indicates that a significant portion of the working-age population is experiencing high stress and risks of depression, leading to absenteeism and reduced workplace efficiency. ECOT, therefore, recognizes the urgent need to build capacity among enterprises and employers to prevent and address these psychosocial risk factors.

Today's workshop represents an excellent collaboration between ECOT and the ILO, with generous support from the Government of Japan, to identify and assess the actual needs of enterprises. The insights gathered will be used to design targeted and sustainable training programs moving forward.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the ILO, the Government of Japan, our distinguished speakers, and all enterprise representatives for joining us to share your perspectives today. I truly hope that this workshop will be of maximum benefit to everyone.
