In Tokyo, there are very few areas of slums or “Sanya” in Japanese. They have been transformed to normal urban environments. At Tamahime Park, it is the “resort” of the homeless of senior citizen who come to gather together. They stored their belonging as well. These senior citizen are probably 65 years old and over. They spent their lives peacefully here. However typical slum houses cannot be found because of the changes to modern buildings. Their today alternative accommodations are small and cheap hotel rooms converted from old buildings. The rent is 2,250 yen per night or some USD 14. They might pay less at some hourly rate too.
