On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Dr.Sopon Pornchokchai, President, Agency for Real Estate Affairs as the President, FIABCI Thai, Board member of FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation) and President, Thai Appraisal & Estate Agents Foundation was invited by the Myanmar Real Estate Services Association (MRESA) to give a speech on behalf of international guests at the 2025 MRESA Annual General Meeting.

 

Your Excellency, Mr.Prime Minister, Mr. Ministers of Yangon, Madam Daw Moh Moh Aung, President, Myanmar Real Estate Services Association or MRESA and distinguished guests.

 

Maingalarpar.  Myanmar.  It is my great pleasure to represent international guests to address to the 2025 Annual General Meeting of  MRESA. I honor the great efforts of Madam President of MRESA, and all the board members  to materialize this great AGM of 1,600 members all together.  At the beginning I wrote 1,200 but now 1,600.

 

I learn that MRESA has over 16,000 members from all provinces and regions in the great Myanmar.  This is considered one of the largest real estate associations in our ASEAN Region or in Asia as a whole.  This implies the cohesion of members who want to develop real estate services profession for the nation indeed.

 

MRESA has contributed a lot to the development of international relation for the benefits of MRESA members as a whole.  Since 2016, MRESA has been a great member of the ASEAN Real Estate Network Alliance or ARENA.  At that time As the President of the Thai Appraisal & Estate Agents Foundation, I organized the first ARENA convention in 2016 or nine years ago in Bangkok.  I also remember that Madam President was the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of ARENA in 2018 in Yangon here

 

It is great to learn that MRESA will soon form FIABCI-Myanmar or International Real Estate Federation, Myanmar Chapter.  FIABCI is the largest real estate federation in the World.  In USA, the Appraisal Institute and National Association of Realtors (NAR) are our members too.  It is a very productive and generous international organization.  Soon Madam President can be elected as a board member of FIABCI International as I am also FIABCI Board Members now.  MRESA  board members can joint different FIABCI councils such as FIABCI Council of Brokers, Developers, Prop-tech, Property Managers, Valuers or FIABCI Council of Experts where I am currently the President.  In addition, Myanmar can go to different international conferences and exhibitions.  In particular, you can join events of FIABCI of different countries to do real productive networking as well.  Such FIABCI Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.

 

MRESA branding, I realize that in MRESA is very active in education for members. It is great I would also like to encourage MRESA members to build brand by indemity insurance if consumers are protected. Our credibility will be build. This is the real good governance, the real social responsibility and the real ESG for real estate professionals.

 

Under the lead of Madam President, all board members, advisors and members of MRESA, I can see the bright future of real estate professionals in Myanmar.
